Teeth that have had root canal treatment
are dead teeth and therefore dead matter. They release harmful metabolic by-products (toxins). The toxins are released into the surrounding tissue via the lymphatic system. From there, they enter the bloodstream and spread throughout the body, where they can contribute to chronic illnesses. Teeth that have undergone root canal treatment usually manifest as a ‘disturbance field’ in diagnostic tests (= an inflammatory process in one part of the body triggers a reaction in another part).
Amalgam – highly toxic hazardous waste in our bodies
Chewing, grinding, brushing teeth and drinking hot or cold beverages release a certain amount of mercury vapour from amalgam fillings every day. Even a single molecule of mercury can destroy nerve cells. The body stores these toxins in glandular (e.g. thyroid), connective or fatty tissue. Infants are particularly at risk whilst being breastfed or even whilst still in the womb during pregnancy. Mercury crosses the placenta completely.
As amalgam fillings are the main source of poisoning with mercury and other heavy metals, they should be removed, whether the person is already chronically ill or as a preventative measure.
Metals – legacy pollution from the last century
For various metals such as mercury, gold, palladium, aluminium, iron, chromium, copper and cobalt, cytotoxic, immunological and carcinogenic effects, as well as effects on metabolism (oxidative stress), are well established by scientific evidence.
Metal components can be detected throughout the body just a few days after being introduced into the mouth. They place a strain on the body due to their toxicity by binding in ionised form to proteins, enzymes and cell membranes, thereby potentially blocking their function.
The immunological effects are particularly dangerous, as they can trigger various forms of allergy, foreign-body-induced inflammation – for example, with titanium – or autoimmune diseases.
Added to this is the exposure to electromagnetic fields. In the age of Wi-Fi, radar, etc., electromagnetic radiation can scatter, reflect, amplify and activate uncontrollably. Microwave radiation always causes metals to heat up.
Another problem is the galvanic or battery effect. When two different metals are placed next to one another, the ions of the less noble metal dissolve and flow towards the more noble metal, releasing electrons in the process – an electric current flows. The classic example is a gold crown next to an amalgam filling.

Old extraction wounds that have not healed properly, or foreign bodies, often lead to chronic inflammation in the jawbone. This results in the build-up of toxins and inflammatory mediators, which can cause a wide range of symptoms elsewhere in the body. These can be diagnosed effectively using three-dimensional digital volume tomography (DVT) or, better still, a dental CT scan. Conventional X-rays are unsuitable for this purpose.

The way our teeth fit together is an important structural component of our body. There are congenital and developmental abnormalities of the jaw, as well as occlusal problems (i.e. problems with the bite) caused by trauma or dental treatment. Even the slightest changes in occlusion lead to an imbalance throughout the entire structure. Compensation occurs through simple regulatory mechanisms in the muscles and ligaments. This usually manifests as tension in the deep neck muscles, but over a longer period is transmitted to the shoulder and pelvic girdles. This tension leads to a reduced blood supply to the brain and, conversely, to impaired blood and lymphatic drainage from the brain, resulting in an accumulation of toxins in the cerebral region.
The resulting symptoms include difficulties with concentration and memory; migraines; insomnia; neck pain and pain in the lower back; and even depression.
How can these relationships be explained?
Our immune system is designed to ward off bacteria, fungi, viruses and other microorganisms. For some years now, there has been a marked increase in chronic diseases in Western countries. The causes are varied, but the over-reactivity of the innate immune system plays a decisive role.
In dentistry, various metals – some of which are even toxic – and other materials are routinely used. Dead or root-canal-treated teeth are also commonplace in the adult oral cavity. These place a strain on our immune system.
Just like the liver, stomach or intestines, teeth are also organs with their own blood and nerve supply. They are the organs anatomically closest to the brain. In this highly sensitive area, the use of various materials often leads to serious consequences for the entire body.
Conventional dentistry does not view the body as an integrated system, and the link between the oral cavity and symptoms elsewhere in the body is virtually never established.
